Samira Maas for Folia Magazine
An other editorial for Folia Magazine, an independent publication for the University of Amsterdam. This time on Dutch actress and recently graduated legal student Samira Maas. For the main, -cover-, shot we went out on the streets. Street shots tend to be unpredictable, overcrowded or littery. With he limited depth-of-field in the shot, the subtle use of type design, the result is still keeping a strong focus on Samira.
In the magazine the article complimented with a 1/1 page close shot (click for bigger image).

Hackers for Folia Magazine
For Folia Magazine, an independent publication for the University of Amsterdam, i did a portrait series on hackers. And hacked the hell out of it. After some samples in color and black and white, we choose to go for the black and whites for a more graphic outcome.

Tearsheet: the new Folia Magazine
Made it to the new Folia Magazine with a spread of one of Amsterdam most beautiful sights; the IJ river. The Folia Magazine, for the University of Amsterdam, just got merged with Hogeschool van Amsterdam’s Havana and had a neat, fresh redesign. In print and online with FoliaWeb.nl. I really like the prominent use of imagery in this new design.
