Visual Diary #005 – Nederlands Film Festival 2011
After quite a lot red carpet sessions, it was time for a different approach. Instead of choosing a fixed position along the carpet, i did chase the attendees in the second line, taking pictures over fellow photographers shoulders. Their hands and camera’s -still in the frame- adds nicely up to the common hectic during such a ceremony.

SNURK bedding, where design meets activism
Recently, the Observer Magazine featured an article on Erik van Loo, co-founder of SNURK. With partner Peggy van Neer, he designed a cardboard box-printed duvet cover (Le-Clochard) and a mattress printed to look like a pavement (Le-Trottoir). Best of all, forty percent of the proceeds in the Netherlands are donated to The Foundation for Dutch Homeless Youngsters (SZN). For sales abroad, donations will be made to similar foundations.

Reportage Sail 2010: A Glimpse into the Old Days
Sail Amsterdam 2010; the sail-in of an impressive fleet of Tall Ships, naval ships and sailing replicas, is a huge maritime event in the Netherlands. Beside the vessels on display for the public, demonstrations and other festivities, it includes one other nice attraction. With hundreds of sailors flooding the city, Sail gives a brief glimpse of the old Amsterdam as seafaring city it used to be.
Sailors, booze and girls; i love this city!
